About Us

Hall Green Bowling Club was established in 1925 and is situated at the rear of The Bulls Head pub on the Stratford Road in Hall Green.

We have around 60 members playing in 11 teams across 7 leagues. There are matches taking place 6 days a week. Matches are played against other teams, giving exposure to a wide number of players from other clubs.

Facilities

We have a sizeable clubhouse with toilet facilities and a small kitchen area. We have a covered outdoor space and ample seating around the green. Members and visitors are able to use the pub car park free of charge by entering their registration details on a tablet in the clubhouse.

Marketing

We are building a solid digital presence via our website which is designed around ensuring that prospective members can find information about the club and contact us to join.

We are active on social media - particularly Facebook, which is also used to reach propective new members, but also to update existing followers with club news, events, and information. Our Facebook page was only started in early 2023 and so is in the early stages, but growing.

We also have a YouTube channel which was used at the beginning of the 2023 season to generate a high level of engagement from bowlers throughout the local region. The video has now had almost 2000 views (as of January 2024) and can be seen below.

Social & Activities

In addition to our weekly leagues and member only events such as our club presentation evening and club competitions, we ran a number of events in 2023 for non-members. These include;

• Two Taster Sessions run at the start of the 2023 season, from which we gained 9 new members.
• Took part in the Bowls Big Weekend 2023 - we were the only Crown Green Bowls Club within the Warwick & Worcester county association which took part.
• Ran an event for the local Friends Group of Solihull on their monthly programme, giving their members the opportunity to try Crown Green Bowls.
• Ran an event for the local Boys and Girls Brigade to come along and have a go at Crown Green Bowls.

We are intending to run similar events during 2024, extending our reach beyond our existing members.
